Haldi Banana Smoothie

Most Indian households have ripe bananas on the counter and milk in the fridge. This recipe takes those two ingredients and the science from your masala to build a meal that fills you up and gives your immunity a proper boost.

Prep Time: 3 Min
Ready in: 3 Min
Serves: 1

Ingredients

  • 1 sachet Nani's Haldi Doodh
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 cup cold milk or coconut milk
  • 1 tbsp almond butter or 5–6 soaked almonds
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 5-6 ice cubes

Preparation

  1. Add the banana (broken into pieces), cold milk, almond butter, honey, and ice cubes to a blender.
  2. Open the Haldi Doodh sachet and put the powder directly into the blender - no need to heat first. The banana and milk carry the flavour beautifully even cold.
  3. Blend on high for 30-40 seconds until completely smooth. The colour will shift to a rich, warm golden-yellow - that's your cue it's ready.
  4. Pour into a tall glass without straining. Drink within 10 minutes for the best flavour and the most intact nutrients. A sprinkle of cinnamon on top is optional but very welcome.

Tip

Peel and freeze your ripe bananas in advance and skip the ice - you'll get a thicker, colder, creamier smoothie with more natural sweetness. Works excellently as a post-workout drink too since the banana restores glycogen and the spices reduce muscle inflammation.
